I Am the Amazon River

by Zach L.

Year after year I watch the

Amazon Rain Forest shrink. Humans stealing the homes

and lives of animals and trees, and cutting down this wonder land with the chain of a saw.
I'm home to over 2000 species

either lingering in my rocky bottoms

or gasping for air at my water's top.
All live in peace in my gigantic body.

But some do not see the peace and harmony among the animals and few trees that live in me, buy I do see that they need jobs and money, but there is a better way of life than killing.
Every year I try to protect my friends, the trees and animals, by raising my body as high as I can, transforming the Rain Forest into a flooded forest, preventing the loggers, pharmaceutical companies and minors, from ruining this wonder land, and stealing the homes and lives of the first world in the Amazon Rain Forest.
