Dear Congressman Greenwood,

Hello! I am a fifth grader at Germantown Academy. I am eleven years old. I enjoy school.

In school we are studying the ancient and tropical rain forests. We get information and have more than 40 activities that we can do. Some we have to do. For each activity, we can get points on how well we do on that project.
We spent three nights and four days at French Creek State Park (the whole grade went!) We studied the animals, plants, and trees of the of the forest. We also learned what it was like with no electricity, except for cooking.
The whole grade raised money for the Rare Center, based in Philadelphia but working all over the world and especially in the Caribbean. It was a dance-a-thon. We danced for over two and a half hours. The whole grade raised a lot of money.

On the 28th of May the school is having Forest Fest, which focusses on five issues of the tropical and temperate forests. It is to help save the ancient and tropical rain forests. The school does this through dance, rap, songs, skits, poems, and writing.

Have you helped make laws or plans to help the forests? Do you have any plans or ideas for the school to help any more? Will you please send me any information you have on the topics I have talked about, including legislation currently in Congress dealing with topics that I have talked about and anything that you would like to send and any suggestions to help!
