1832 - 1879
Annie Christmas was a keelboat driver on the Mississippi
River. Annie had 12 sons. She was 6 feet, 8 inches tall and weighed over
250 pounds. The height of her career was when she saved all the riders on
the Natchez Belle. Because they were in heavy debris, Annie Christmas got
her keelboat and saved the people on the Natchez Belle.
Annie's funeral will be held Wednesday the 25th. She will be driven in a
coal black hearse, and will be buried in the Mississippi River inside a
coal black casket. They will be singing a coal black song on a coal black
night, with her 12 sons crying coal black tears.
