Early Life
On October the 24, 51 A.D. a baby named Domitian was born. He was born in his family's house on Pomegranate Street in Rome. His father was Vespasian, mother Domitilla, and older brother Titus. Domitian and his family were part of the Flavian Dynasty. During Domitian's childhood, his family was fairly poor. Domitian did not receive a very good education because his family did not have enough money. However, there were other sources that said that his family was fairly wealthy, and that he received an education similar to the "senatorial elite". Supposedly, because his family was poor sometimes Domitian had to sell himself to certain senators, including the future emperor Nerva. During his father's reign, Domitian wrote many poems and even a few books on baldness and hair care.
On December 20, 69 A.D., he became the emperor in his father's absence. Unfortunately, one year later, sometime in October, Vespasian took over once again. Then in 81 A.D. Domitian became the emperor. His wife was named Domitia, who later became Augusta.
