Walk in the Night

Crisp night with glistening stars

Way above the din of cars

Moistened grass with fresh, green dew

A faint noise and a buzz that's new

The pitter-patter, the trickle of rain

Down the long, dark, black lane

Approaching the mailbox, the lightened, bright lamp

To feel the powerful sky that was damp

Exertion of night, advance in my walk

The silence of nature, the whisper of talk

Completed the squat, accomplished the task

The duty was done, the questions were asked

Scampering towards the warm, cozy home

To find that I, was not all alone.
