One day there was a squirrel that was called Chief Shinchady. He was a little selfish when it came to nuts, nut in the forests of Jawobi were like money. Chief Shinchady was out of nuts and was very hungry. He decided to start a business and that's where this story starts.
One day in
the middle of summer, Chief Shinchady had spent his last nuts
on some berries. Then, he suddenly noticed he didn't have any
nuts left.
About a step later he had come up with an idea; he would start
a huge
company. He said to himself, "This business will be ah, ah,
a food
Business, and I shall hire Tunka, Chow, and Mano-Bhozo a very
dull dog.![]()
Tunka was a deer and Chow was a wolf. The next day he went to
visit the
animals, first Chow, then Tunka, and last Mano-Bhozo.
On his way
to Chow's house, he saw Tunka passing by. The Chief asked Tunka,
"Will you work for my food business, you will receive four
nuts a week?"
To Chief Shinchady's surprise, Tunka said; "Yes, absolutely,
why not!" They
both went to Chow's house, he also said yes to Chief Shinchady's
offer.
Mano-Bhozo did have some doubts but was talked into saying yes!
Now the
Chief could start his business.
When they started, they were getting a lot of customers. This went on for a few days. They sold fish, berries, and fruits. Then business got very busy and they were getting a lot of company was bringing in a lot of nuts. Eventually, the Chief got very greedy. He called a meeting and announced he would be giving himself a raise. His salary would be seven nuts a week and the rest of the employees still only got four nuts. To Chow, this was unfair, he decided to do something about it but not right away. After a few weeks, the Chief kept raising his salary from eight to nine to ten nuts a week. Now it was time to do something.
Chow called
a meeting with Tunka and Mano-Bhozo, they decided to play a
trick on Chief Shinchady. They would let the Chief raise his salary
until
he had enough nuts to buy moccasins so he could walk from his
house to
his store and back. After he had enough, they would make a great
basket with wheels, to drive their Chief around, the thing was
that the seat was a default
seat and it ejected. Chow now had a wonderful idea.
After Chief
Shinchady had gotten enough to buy moccasins and the
carriage, the Chief's employees took him for a ride, as they rode
by the
swamp, Chow looked over the edge of the basket as if there were
something there, then pushed Chief Shinchady from the basket and
into the swamp. There were snakes in the swamp and they chased
the Chief out of the water. The snake in the near by tree grabbed
a hold of the squirrel's leg and threw him. The Chief was wet
from getting thrown in the swamp. Then he needed to get dry so
the snake threw him fifty paces.
When Chief Shinchady came back his tail was the same, but now it was big and fluffy. Before it was skinny like a Tunka's tail.
He asked Chow," So How do you like it?"
Chow replied questionably, "What, like what?"
"My new and improved tail,"
"Oh, uh, it's different!"
