On My Honor

This is the novel that all students should read before school begins. It was written by Marion Dane Bauer. It is about a boy named Joel, who finds that peer pressure can be more dangerous than he ever imagined. What do you think?

What would do if a friend challenged you to do something you knew was dangerous?

Is it necessary to do what a friend tells you to do in order to keep that friend? Do you know how to say "no" without losing your friend?

Whom would you choose for a friend, Joel or Tony?

What could Joel have done differently to change the outcome of the story? What would you have done?
