- Apollo was the god of oracles, music and poetry.
- Ianuaria was a Celtic goddess of music and healing
- Maponus was a Celtic god associated with music, poetry and hunting.
- A Cornu was a French horn like instrument used to send signals in the military.
- Music was played at ceremonies to abolish bad omen.
- A Tibiae, used during sacrifices, was made of two pipes. The flute and the lyre also joined them.
- Rattles, cymbals, and tambourines were used in worship.
- An Odeion was a small theater with a roof used just for musical performances.
- A lyre was made of a turtle shell and strings and sounded mush like a guitar. (see below)
- Music was used during the worship of gods and depicted in art. ( see below)
