The Jurist

  1. The Law was called the ius.
  2. Earliest law scripture was Twelve Tables
  3. Latest was Justinian’s Corpus iuris civilis.
  4. The jurist was a scholar in the law.
  5. The jurist also made it.
  6. The Jurists were also able to shape Roman society to what they wanted with the laws.
  7. There were four types of Jurors
  8. There was a Magistrate who wore special robes and sat on the tribune and judged the centurion.
  9. The centurion shaved his head to get his sentence.
  10. The tribal assembly voted for the magistrates.
  11. There were also these people called bandits and they were stereotyped to commit crimes from kidnapping, cattle rustling, robbery, and violence.
  12. Known bandits could be executed, there bodies put on stakes and displayed where they committed most of their crimes to scare other bandits.
