STEP 1: Launch Fireworks.
STEP 2: Go to File on the menu bar and choose Open. Navigate the pop-up window to select your downloaded or scanned coin image.
STEP 3: Click and hold on the marquee tool from the Tool Box. The marquee is the square composed of dotted lines. Two choices will appear. Select the circle marquee tool.
STEP 4: Draw a circle around your coin. At first, this is tricky. The key is to imagine you are drawing a box--start at the top right "corner" of the box the coin would fit inside.
STEP 5: Go to the Edit menu and choose Copy.
STEP 6: Go to the File menu and choose New. Click OK.
STEP 7: Go to the Edit menu and choose Paste.
STEP 8: Go to the File menu and choose Export Preview.
STEP 9: At the top right of the pop up window, make sure that the image is being exported as a GIF.
STEP 10. In the bottom left of the pop up window, click on the bar that says "no transparency" and choose "index transparency". This will allow you to insert your coin into your presentation without a square bacground for it.
