The second grade program integrates technology into the curriculum. Children are familiarized with basic skills such as word processing, copying and pasting, saving, printing, and exiting a program.  Students use a variety of software.  Kid Pix, Reading Blaster, and JumpStart Second Grade are examples of some of our software.

Teacher time has been spent discovering appropriate sites for children to visit on the internet.   Subjects that are bookmarked usually concern topics we are exploring, such as insects, dinosaurs, Native Americans, current events, presidents, and holidays.  Interactive websites are also chosen for students to reinforce concepts.

Second graders work with our Curriculum Technology Specialist to create webpages for our second grade website. Be sure to visit our Second Grade web page during the year.   The children’s work is added to this site throughout the school year.
