The children enjoyed a trip to the Wissahickon Creek, which runs through our campus. Our science teacher had shown the children pictures of various aquatic insects that live in the Wissahickon Creek. Dressed in appropriate clothing, the children waded into the creek with nets. They had fun searching for aquatic insects as well as other animals that live in the creek. All the captured insects were placed into an aquarium for all the children to see and enjoy before returning to the creek. It is always exciting and educational to view live specimens. The children became quite proficient at identifying the insects.
