On the last day of my summer vacation in Hawaii, I was walking Rocky by the side of a lake. Rocky started to growl. When I turned around, Rocky was looking at the lake. I looked too. Suddenly, there were bubbles as big as a full-grown tree. Then the lake rose up and out came something that looked like a green rock with orange stripes. It rose higher and higher. Rocky went behind me.

My heart was pounding as fast as a cheetah running. All of a sudden everything was quiet and right there in front of me was the thing that I thought was a rock. It was a giant lizard. When I saw the giant lizard I was super alarmed because it was not a lizard. When I looked at it more carefully I noticed it was a dinosaur.

I could not believe my eyes because I had thought that dinosaurs were extinct, but this one wasn’t. The dinosaur walked over to my feet where I had dropped Rocky’s chew toy. He grabbed the toy and Rocky jumped into the backpack I was wearing. Rocky started to growl at the dinosaur again.

The dinosaur was 22 feet tall and 10 feet long. I was not sure if somebody had already discovered him so I went to the science lab and told Dr. McSomebody.

I told Dr. McSomebody, “I found a dinosaur in Spring Lake. It was green and had orange stripes”. Dr. McSomebody said, “I never got a call with that color of a dinosaur. Since you found him, you can name him. So I named him tarbolestesraptorsaurus which means “alarming robber thief lizard”. After that I built a metal box just his size before I went home. I called forest city and told them, “Please make me two backyards. Make one super big and another medium size. In the medium one make a doghouse and a garden. Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you in the super big one make a forest, a lake, and a huge metal bubble around the outside of the yard”. After that we all went home. Rocky fell asleep in the truck but the tarbolestesraptorsaurus did not. He scratched and punched and did everything to get out of the metal box.

When we got home I put Rocky in his crate and put the tarbolestesraptorsaurus in the super big backyard. The next morning before they both woke up I put fresh eggs in the yard for the dinosaur and dog food right outside of Rocky’s crate. When I went back to the super big yard, the dinosaur walked over to me. I think he’s starting to like me and trust me.

A couple days later Mr. McSomebody called me to say that somebody found footprints of my dinosaur. He said to the person, “The dinosaur has already been found by a young girl so he couldn’t get rich and famous”. Then we all lived happily ever after.
