Jordan, an Archaeologist was in Russia looking for Anastasia’s treasures when she found a trunk.  Inside the trunk there was a dusty ball. She brushed off the ball and in it was a dinosaur!  She held the little coughing dinosaur and gave it a drink from her soda can.

         When Jordan got back home to North America she went to the Academy of Natural Sciences and showed them the dinosaur that she found.  Jordan decided to name the dinosaur Brachydromikoxiaopachydermmaiasaurus.  Jordan said, “The dino’s name means short swift dawn thick skin good mother lizard.  The name means thick skin because it has so many tiny scales that keeps it warm because it is cold blooded.  It is just like a penguin”.  Paleontologists think this dinosaur may be related to penguins.

         The dinosaur is very small, it was as small as a kid’s hand.  It lived back in the Cretaceous period.  The dinosaur is orange with some blue.  The dinosaur likes to eat plants.

         Dr. Bone from the Academy of Natural Sciences asked Jordan, “What are you going to do with the dinosaur that you discovered?”  Jordan said, “I would like to keep it! The dinosaur has cool rough skin so I am going to call her Ruffie”.

         Ruffie will be at the ANS for the next five days.  So come see her before she goes to live in her new home with Jordan.
