Stegolophoxenosaurus

"covered crested strange lizard"

By Ali B.

HI! My name is Dr. B. Last week I went looking for a Platyovosaurus. But instead I found a Stegolophoxenosaurus. It was new dinosaur. As fast as I could I took a plane to New York to the Rocky Dinosaur Museum. I told all the paleontologists I discovered a new dinosaur. So then I tried to figure out what it ate and did. It lived in the Triassic or in the Jurassic or the Cretaceous. So then I tried to remembered that the dinosaur's bones where found in the middle of the ground. So I knew Stegolophoxenosaurus lived in the Jurassic period. But I said to myself, "Did it eat meat or did it eat leaves ?" Then I closed my eyes and tried to remember if it had sharp teeth or did it have smooth teeth to eat leaves. Then I remembered it had smooth teeth. So I knew it was a plant eater. I had all the information I needed. So then I started to put it together. It took me about 80 hours to put it together. I didn't stop to go to the bathroom or to go to sleep or to do anything like that. When it was done I displayed it. Crowds of people were around the dinosaur and they loved it!

Astrolophodon

"star crested tooth"

By Amy G.

One day an Astrolophodon named Star was walking to find some nice green leaves. While she was walking, she found a Dragonodon.
The Dragonodon said, "What are you doing here?"
"I was just going to find some nice leaves," said Star.
"That's not a good reason," said Dragonodon.
"Then I have to get some food for my whole family," said Star.
"That's a good reason. You may cross this point," said Dragonodon.
"But I won't always let you cross this point," he said. The next day Star was on her way to her friends house while Dragonodon was eating leaves.
"What are you doing here?" said Dragonodon.
"I have to go to my friends house because my mom told me too," said Star.
"Ok, you may cross," said Dragonodon.
On her way home she got back because Dragonodon was sleeping. Then one day when Star was all grown up she killed Dragonodon. It was a sad moment. A couple of years later Star died and became a fossil.

Micromonopodotherium

"small one footed beast"

By Chanda P.

Hi! This is reporter Meg Jackson. There was a new discovery. Dr. P. found an interesting dinosaur called Micromonopodotherium. Micromonopodotherium means "small one foot beast." Micromonopodotherium lived in the Triassic Period. It ate plants. It was two feet tall and in length it was three feet. It weighed 1 ton. Now I'll hand it to Dr. Patel and she'll tell you all the details. Every morning when the Micromonopodotherium woke up it would make a loud honking sound from its one leg. It was always the first dinosaur to wake up. So when it woke up and made its sound it would wake up all the other dinosaurs. At night it made a screechy sound at 9:30 and that signal would tell the other dinosaurs to go to bed. Now here's Meg for you again. Ok! That's enough interesting facts for today, so let's move on to traffic and weather together. Oh, before we move on to weather, right now I'll tell you how the weather was when Micromonopodotherium lived. It was warm and damp. Now finally I'll tell you the weather right now and right here.

Acanthustorvotheriumsaurus

"spined savage beast lizard"

By David Y.

One day there was an Acanthustorvotheriumsaurus laying in the rocks. One day some people found it. It was a very complete skeleton. They looked at what rock layer it was in. It lived in the Cretaceous period. It ate Megalodicerotosaurus and also ate Xenoplatytherium. They found it in north Russia. Finally they released it to the public. It was a big hit.

Microtorvotherium

"small savage beast"

By Gordon

Hi! I'm Microtorvotherium or "small savage beast." I am about to tell you the most weird story that you've ever heard. It all started when I was walking down the path in the cerato forest. It was wonderful in the Cretaceous times and I was nearing my herd. It was late afternoon and my herd was walking. I should be back before my mom catches me wandering. But it was too late. I could hear her calling, "Honey! Where are you? It's breakfast time."
"I'm over here mom, just taking a walk," I said.
"Could you go catch a Parasauralophus for the herd?" she asked.
"Sure," I said.
So I turned around and walked back into the forest. Soon after that, I heard a rustling in the bush and suddenly a flash of yellow and black hit me.
"What's up?" I said.
"You're up!" said the small Astroraptor.
"Get off me!" I said.
"Oh sorry," said Astro.
He hopped off. Now, what was I about to do? Just then, a small rock fell off a tree and hit me on the head.
"Wait a minute!" I said.
It just hit me. I was supposed to go fishing. So my cousin and I strolled down the path to the lake. I soon finished catching a small Ichthyosaur when I heard a small yelp. A Procompsognathus baby was drowning. I thought they were extinct but I saved it anyway. I took him in as my brother and we tried to get home but ran into something, a T-Rex. I quickly swung my spiked tail and showed my teeth. The T-Rex backed up but it wouldn't back down. My brother hid in a bush. I called the herd. They quickly came and scared the T-Rex away. I happily hurried home with my family.

Barosdiplobrachiosaurus

"heavy double arm lizard''

By Hannah

Hi! My name is Dr.H. I just found a new dino. I will call it Barosdiplobrachiosaurus. It's name means "heavy double arm lizard.'' It lived in the Jurassic period. It was a herbivore. It had two arms that helped it to grab plants.
It walked on all four legs. I traveled all over America to find the bones of a Barosdiplobrachiosaurus(bar-os-dip-lo-brack-eo-saurus) and I ended up in Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, and Utah. It could eat 20 pounds of plants each day.It was a sauropod so of course it did not take care of its young. It kept on walking and laying eggs, walking and laying eggs. What's that you say? You don't know what a sauropod is? It is a dinosaur that is heavy, tall, and long, and all sauropods ate plants. It's 70 feet long and 35 feet high. It had cousins. Apatosaurus, Brachiosaurus, and Diplodocus. It travelled in herds. I love Barosdiplobrachiosaurus. I
hope you do too!

Xenoceratosaurus

"strange horned lizard"

By Hirsh S.

Hi! my name is Xenoceratosaurus ( Xe-no-serato-sorus ) My name means "strange horned lizard." The paleontologist who found me was named Dr. Shah. I lived from the beginning of the Triassic to the end of the Cretaceous. My fossils were found in Venezuela, Brazil, and India. I had a satellite that detected danger so I could fight it. When I was in the middle Jurassic an asteroid was heading for me so I hit it with my tail and it went back to space. I was 1 billion feet long.

Astromaiaodonornithosaurus

"star good mother tooth bird lizard"

By Jeannie G.

One day a herbivore was walking along a path but when he was walking he saw a bug. They both said "hi." Then they talked while they were walking along the path. Then the bug named Tod said, "I have to go now" and the dinosaur cried. So the next day came and the dinosaur was still crying. But when he opened his eyes he saw the bug and the bug said, "Yesterday I forgot to ask what your
name is."
" Oh I am so sorry that I did not tell you my name."
"So, what is it?"
"It is Astromaiaodonornithosaurus!"
"Wow, that is a long name. Thanks!"
"You're welcome."
So the next day came but this time they both did not go on the path. They went to Astromaiaodonornithosaurus' home. He had a mansion. It was not scary. It was funny. It had a clown sticker on the side and on the other side there was a sign that said "Boo!" They both were best friends.

Bicephalomicromimus

"Two headed small imitator"

By Lauren D.

Hi! My name is Dr. D. Two weeks ago I found a new dinosaur. Its name is Bicephalomicromimus (bi-sefalo-mikro-mimus). Its name means "Two headed small imitator." I found it deep in the rocks, and that means it lived in the Triassic period. It was a very ferocious meat-eater. It could eat twenty pounds of meat in one day! It was much smaller than a Coelophysis, but it was so fierce that it could kill a Coelophysis in one hit! It was the only known dinosaur that had two heads. It was not a very popular dinosaur. That is why it is fun to study it. I went on a vacation to Africa. I found the fossils there. It was only five feet long and three feet high. It had a big spine on its back. It had two colors on its body, green and gray. It lived in a very dry place. It could run very, very fast.

Megalodiceratosaurus

"giant two horned lizard"

By Mary S.

Hi! My name is Dr. S. I discovered a dinosaur named Megalodiceratosaurus. It means giant two horned lizard. It ate plants. It lived in the Jurassic period. The fossils were found in Utah. I had to travel by plane, then ship, then bus and plane again. It took a long time to get there. Its weight was 30 pounds. I, Dr. Sherlock dug up a head of one dinosaur and a body of another. Then I saw a fossil of Apatosaurus and Diplodocus. Diplodocus is 90 feet long. Apatosaurus is 70 feet long. Starsaurus was 1 foot long. Starsaurus ate meat. He was eight years old. He was also a plant eater.

Platyopsaurus

"flat faced lizard"

By Meg P.

I am a paleontologist. One day I was walking in the woods and a huge creature knocked me to the ground. I named it Platyopsaurus. Two years later we discovered it was a dinosaur. I was so shocked that I fainted. When I woke I thought it was a dream. Then I went back to the woods for a walk. It was there. I couldn't believe my eyes! I touched it and I felt it. I smacked my cheek. It was real! He was a nice and fun dinosaur. I rode on its back to the movies. We saw the movie Back to the Triassic Period. Platyopsaurus saw some of his ancestors. Then they told us to put on our 3D glasses. A dinosaur popped out at me. I got so scared I fell to the ground and got popcorn stuck to my ear. I thought it looked like I had my ears pierced so I kept it there. But by accident Platyopsaurus ate it. But after that I got down to business. I found it ate plants and weighed 6 tons. 74 years later he died. I put him in a museum. Everybody liked it and they all lived happily ever after.

Xenoplatytherium

"strange-flat-beast"

By Michael M.

My name is Dr. Mike. Yesterday to my relief I found new fossils of a new dinosaur. I named it Xenoplatytherium. It is an omnivore. It lived in the Jurassic period. It didn't take care of its young. It did not travel in herds. And it had the power to kill dinosaurs. Its name means "strange-flat-beast". It was wonderful to find these fossils. Now I am famous.

Megalornithodonsaurus

"Giant bird tooth lizard"

By Morgan R.

Hi! My name is Dr.R. Last week I found a new dino. Its name is Megalornithodonsaurus. Its name means "Giant bird tooth lizard." It lived in the Jurassic. It was a carnivore. It had 60,000 teeth. Pennsylvania, Maryland, India, and Africa was where they lived. Now it was not an ordinary meat-eater because it ate a certain kind of meat. It ate Braceasaurus and Diplodocus. It was the most fierce dinosaur in the world and it lived from the Jurassic to the Cretaceous period. Then, out of space came a comet that hit the earth. That was the end of Megalornithodonsaurus and the other dinosaurs. Well, nice talking with you. Bye!

Triacanustherium

"three spine beast"

By Nick B.

Hi! My name is Mr. Pugs. I am a paleontologist. I am going to tell you a little bit about this dinosaur I just found. It's called Triacanustherium. It means three spine beast. Its length is 11 feet and it is 10 feet high. The fossils were found in North Canada. It lived in the Jurassic period. It had three claws on each hand. They were 1 foot long. It had a sharp needle at the end of his tail. It had a long flexible neck. The spine on its tail coulwack a dinosaur around and kill it. That's a thing I wouldn't go next to!

Astoraptor

"star thief"

By Patrick K.

65 million years ago, in the Cretaceous period, lived Astoraptor. I'm Astoraptor. I was an omnivore. I was 86 feet long and 20 feet tall. My family is called the Astorsaurs. Their habitat was forest lowlands. All of them lived by a swamp. I'm the biggest and baddest in my family! It seems like yesterday when I got in a big fight with a Deinonychus. He hit me with his tail just as I was going to get my morning cycads. I don't like to get disturbed when I do this. We nearly killed each other, but I won. I wondered why they called Deinonychus terrible claw.
As I was walking, I bumped into a giant tree. It roared and I jumped back. I never heard a tree roar before. Ten minutes later it ducked its head. It was a Gignatosaurus. Ahhhhh!!! It chased me for half an hour. Finally, he gave up. Two days later a Ceratosaurus scientist blew up a cycad and then he tried to do it to me. I tried to run and hide up a tree but I fell down. He eventually got me. But all he did was say "hi!"
I went to Ceratosaurus' house. Then I got home, went to the couch and fell fast asleep with a big plant in my mouth.

Maiamicroacanthusallosaurus

Good mother small spines different lizard"

By Ryan F.

Hello I am Dr. Forbes I just discovered a new dinosaur that I named Maiamicroacanthusallosaurs which means "Good mother small spines different lizard." It lived in the late late Jurassic period to the late late Cretaceous period. If a predator touched the tail it would die. The spikes shot out poison powder. My new discovery was on Wednesday, February 28, 2000. It was a herbivore. It was 6 feet at the hip and 10 feet high. It was 10 feet long too. The dino discovery is official.

Astroxenosaurus
"Star strange lizard"

By Stephanie W.

One day Astroxenosaurus was playing with Iguanodon and Saltopus. While they were playing they saw a T. Rex. They thought they were goners but they escaped. They got away in time. So they went back to their game. Why they are best friends is because they all eat plants.
By sunset they were expected home. At sunrise they were all ready to play together but Saltopus was sick. She could not come out to play. So they asked Velociraptor to play with them. Of course, only if she wanted too. She said, "O.K." The next day Saltopus was better so she came out to play.
They were excited that Saltopus could. It was fun playing with Velociraptor but it was not the same!
